Major Activities

Academic and technological research and development on geosynthetics and applied geosynthetics
Survey, data collection and analysis through industry-university-institute collaboration; establishment of related standards and guidelines
Publication of the official KGSS journal, research paper collections, research reports and books; Facilitation of exchange, dissemination, and promotion of information by organizing research presentations, lectures, workshops and exhibitions.
Outsourcing of research projects, provision of contract research services on geosynthetics and applied geosynthetics, technical consulting
Advisory services on geosynthetic technologies; proposal of related policies; sponsorship for public welfare projects
Cooperation, academic and cultural exchanges with related institutions both at home and abroad
Recognition of excellent performance, achievements, and contribution
Other projects needed to accomplish the purposes of this society

Specific Activities at Home and Abroad

Hold a General Meeting and a Conference every spring; a Conference every autumn
Publish research paper collections on a quarterly basis (March, June, September, December) (http://journal.kgss.or.kr/)
Publish the official KGSS journal on a quarterly basis (January, April, July, October)
Provide continuing education and short-term training courses
Provide professional training courses for civil servants
Participate in and support the academic activities of International Geosynthetics Society and its Asian counterparts
Operate the Korean Chapter of International Geosynthetics Society (KC-IGS)
